In her first interview with Manifest Easy, Laura shares with us how she defied the odds against her in the beginning of her modelling carreer, and her big plans for the future.
What is the best thing that has ever happened to you?
“My University experience is probably up there, without that I never would have met my lifelong friends and been able to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.”
What is your favorite part about being a woman?
“The close friendships I’ve formed with other female creatives throughout my career.”
Who is your favorite role model?
“Models that have broken barriers/stigmas in the fashion industry, Jessica Megan, Ashley Graham and Andrea Venturr spring to mind!”
What is your dream in life?
“To be an advocate for inclusivity and start my own charity.”
When you’re feeling down, what do you like to do to bring yourself back into good spirits?
“Put on some good music and get a cup of tea!”
What makes your soul light up?
“Modelling and working with creatives.”
What is your favorite outfit to wear at the moment?
“Loungewear because of the lockdown!”
What is your “happy place”?
“Somewhere with my friends and family, although my bed is almost up there. “
What’s most important to you?
“The wellbeing of my family, friends and community.”
What’s the funniest moment you’ve experienced?
“There was a show at Edinburgh Fringe that is the wackiest improv sketches. It goes on until 3 or 4 in the morning and you never know what you’re gonna get!
I ended up being pulled up onstage and helping one of segments, one of the funniest/ ‘is this really happening?’ memories!”
What’s your favorite thing that you’ve manifested into your life so far?
“Getting the call to perform at Edinburgh Fringe last year!”
If you had the chance to talk to your younger self, what would you tell them?
“Embrace your quirks and trust in the fact everything happens for a reason.”
What’s something that you love about yourself?
“My ambition, even if sometimes my plans are too ambitious!”
What’s your favorite meal? Gimme allll the juicy details!!!
“Chicken nuggets, or a tea bone steak from Miller and Carter with fries and relish…I’m hungry now!”
Do you meditate?
“Sometimes I practice breathing and clearing the mind but I find calm through music more than guided meditation.”
What is something you’re really proud of accomplishing?
“My freelance modelling career because so many people told me I couldn’t do it.”
