What is the best thing that has ever happened to you?

“The best thing that has ever happened to me is graduating from college with my desired grades in Public Services, and getting the opportunities to work alongside brands such as Femme Luxe Finery on Instagram!

I didn’t expect in a million years to be able to achieve either, let alone both!”

What is your favorite part about being a woman?

“My favourite part about being a woman is being able to prove those who doubt me wrong and to have the ability to empower other women and lift them up in a way men may not be able to.

To hear a man call you beautiful is nice and warms you up inside, but to hear another woman call you beautiful makes you feel on top of the world, and it makes you feel like you can conquer anything – and I think it’s really important for women to support women.”

Who is your favorite role model?

“As cheesy as it sounds, my mum truly is my role model. She’s taught me to be as strong as I can, but that it’s okay to not be okay.

Many people have this idea that if you’re not okay all the time, then you’re not strong – and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Although mental health has become more and more spoken about in recent times, there is still a stigma surrounding it that hasn’t quite been diminished yet.

Many people from certain generations feel as though mental illnesses don’t exist and that our generation have no reason to be stressed. My mum is not one of those people – severe mental health runs in our family’s blood, so I’m so lucky to have such an amazing, understanding woman as my mum.”

What is your dream in life?

“My dream in life is to have a stable career, but also to promote and introduce happiness, self-confidence, and positivity across social media because it is no secret social media can be a cold, cruel place to be. People are definitely caught up in who has more followers and who gets more likes, etc – so

I strive to remind everyone social media doesn’t have to be one big competition. Take, for example, the “until tomorrow” challenge that seems to be circulating on Instagram at the moment – you post an embarrassing or funny picture of yourself and whoever likes the picture then has to post an embarrassing or funny picture of themselves and keep it on their page for 24 hours, and so on.

There have been many challenges on social media to take part in, and I think that’s important as a reminder that social media doesn’t have to be so serious all of the time.”

When you’re feeling down, what do you like to do to bring yourself back into good spirits?

“When I’m feeling down, I often just embrace how I’m feeling. I don’t try to immediately make myself feel better because we’re only human and we have all kinds of feelings – so I try to pinpoint why I might be feeling down, and if I have no reason to feel down then I try not to get frustrated with myself.

However, when I’m ready to lift my spirits I’ll spend time with loved ones and people who make me feel comfortable.

One tip I’ve learned is to not spend too much time on social media when you feel down as it can make you feel worse, speaking from personal experience.

Social media can definitely warp your sense of reality, so when I’m feeling down I prefer to spend time with real, unfiltered people to remind myself that everybody has flaws and that doesn’t mean we should feel any less beautiful than we are.”

What makes your soul light up?

“I have many things that make my soul light up – but I really love doing my makeup and dyeing my hair when I want to! I love changing up my appearance to suit how I feel.

I also love listening to music – there really is a playlist for every mood!

My true passion is to work within the Public Services sector though, I haven’t quite figured out what as just yet, but the idea of helping and serving all members of the community really appeals to me.”

What is your favorite outfit to wear at the moment?

“My favourite outfit to wear at the moment is my pyjamas due to quarantining!

But when I’m not in quarantine, I’m loving my plain white crop top, denim jeans and a red bum bag across torso diagonally!

It’s simple, yet nice to look at because there aren’t too many colours or patterns going on within the outfit. I feature quite a lot of outfits on my Instagram page if you want to see more.”

What is your “happy place”?

“My “happy place” is surrounded by the people in my life who have nothing but my best interests at heart and love for me. The pure energy I feel when I’m around them is enough to make me feel at my happiest.”

What’s most important to you?

“The thing that is most important to me, disregarding family and friends, is being humble and true to yourself.

I’ve seen many people fall into the wrong crowd, or gain a bigger audience on social media and completely lose sight of who they were beforehand and I think that’s so unfortunate as these things shouldn’t change you – you should only change if it’s for you, not for anyone or anything else.

So, being humble and staying true is definitely the most important thing to me.”

What’s the funniest moment you’ve experienced?

“It’s so hard to pick the funniest moment I’ve experienced because I truly have experienced so many funny moments!

I try not take to life too seriously and I always try to ensure I have fun in whatever it is I’m doin,…

However, when I go to the cinema with my best friend we always go to watch horrors and thrillers really late at night (around 11:00pm), so we’re usually the only ones in the screen which means we always narrate the movie ourselves!

We were watching “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”, and the scene in The Big Toe story where the dead woman comes out of the bathroom with wet hair and a missing big toe was hilarious because my best friend made a meme out of it saying, “When you get out of the shower and you stub your toe”. I honestly cried laughing about it for the rest of the night and the next morning!”

What’s your favorite thing that you’ve manifested into your life so far?

“I manifested happiness into my life in a time where everything was dark and I was slowly losing hope, and I got what I wanted. I got the happiness I felt like I deserved and I hope to project that into as many other people as I can!”

If you had the chance to talk to your younger self, what would you tell them?

“If I could talk to my younger self, I’d tell her to keep her head up and never forget her worth. I’d tell her to be more careful with who she gives her precious time to and who she trusts, but I’d also tell her that there are so many opportunities in the world, she just needs to grab them and strive for them.

Success doesn’t come easy and I have many, many more things I would like to accomplish, but I’m only 19 years old, and I’m proud of the smaller achievements I have accomplished so far.”

What’s something that you love about yourself?

“One thing I cherish about myself is my sense of respect for others and my integrity.

Whether you’re in society’s less desirable position like a cleaner, or in a highly reputable position like a CEO, I will always speak to you and treat you with the same respect as I would with everyone else – regardless of what position you are in.”

What’s your favorite meal? Gimme allll the juicy details!!!

“My favourite meal is definitely a takeaway pizza! I know it’s so bad, right? I can’t resist a takeaway pizza with extra cheese, pepperoni, jalapeños, green chillies, and sweetcorn!

Sometimes I might even get stuffed crust too! I have such a guilty pleasure for it and it’s my go-to delivery choice!”

Do you meditate?

“I haven’t really tried meditation very much, just because I can’t take myself seriously enough to! I would really like to properly try it one day because from what I’ve gathered from everyone who has tried it, it really helps to settle the mind and relax your core.”

What is something you’re really proud of accomplishing?

“I’m proud of overcoming a very dark part in my life and how I’ve come out the other side feeling stronger and more experienced than I did before.

There have been many things I’m proud of accomplishing, but that is honestly the one thing I can stand up and say “I did that” to. I think it’s important for everyone to take time to list out all of the accomplishments they’ve made to remind themselves of how hard work pays off well.”

What do you want to be remembered as?

“I don’t want to be remembered for a “follower count” or for anything shallow, I want to be remembered as a person who promotes happiness, respect, and humbleness.

I want to be remembered as a woman who overcomes everything life throws at her and always come out stronger and more experienced.”
